Gel grips and Gel gloves get recommended a lot... personally, I don't know that they do much good. I've been riding with gel gloves for a couple months now... not because I wanted gel but because the first gloves I bought were waay too hot for comfort and the only decent looking summer gloves in the store happened to have gel palms.

I put cushy grips on my bike a week ago. I was curious and frankly I think they look better than the stock rubber grips. Progrip 719s I think they are.

I've come to the conclusion that the problem is a combination of holding an awkward position too long and the glove straps being just a tiny amount too tight. If I loosen the straps a little and roll the throttle in my hand (instead of just flexing my wrist to set the throttle position) so that my wrist is always pointed more or less straight back with only a modest arm/wrist angle it mostly goes away. If I take my hand off the throttle from time to time (easy at a stoplight, not so easy on the freeway) and flex my fingers it never develops).

My advice is, if you buy gel gloves don't buy Olympia gel gloves... they are falling apart after barely two months of use. I'm going to replace them in the next couple weeks.
Ride it like you think owning it matters.

I need new gloves anyway. I'll keep that in mind. At least I know this is a common thing.

IANAD...I was way off Monte.

From what i understand there is actually a condition you can get from too much vibration. makes the palms perma red and painful.

Have heard Gel grips/gloves, bar snakes, rubber in the grips, sand, lead shot. all of em seem like good ideas
