Ladies - Not Sure what I want
Ladies - Not Sure what I want
I am looking for suggestions also. I am very new. I take my bike course the end of September. We were out looking tonight and I sat on a ninja 500r I was on my tippy toes unless I put my right foot on the peg and balanced with my left. I am 5'4" and about 125. Any suggestions????

that's cool. it's a little harder but if you can tippy toe it. you can ride it.
like you said, just tilt it when you stop.
i can flat foot my bike but i always tilt it anyway on stops w/ foot on the rear brake.
the harder part would be power walking it but im sure w/ enough practice, you can get good at it. although be very careful when power walking on slopes and uneven grounds.
also, you might wanna try and shave some of the seat. i dunno how it's done but my friend did it for his gixxer600 right at the dealer.
good luck...
you could always try cruisers if you're not specifically looking at sporty looking bikes like the ninja500 and 250.

at the dealer, the preload might be set for a heavier person so it might still go a bit lower for you.
also sit on the ninja 250 and other similar bikes since they all fit a bit different.

Here's 5'2" chipping in...I have boots that add about 1.5 inches and I can get 1 foot flat but the other is on my toes on my Ninja 250 when I am stopped - and hence am leaned a bit. It's taken getting used to but works for me. Maybe try sitting on different bikes to check out the heights too. And seat shaving would definitely be an option.
Ya right,
there are only 2 kinds of bikes: It's a Ninja... look that one's a Harley... oh there's a Ninja... Harley...Ninja...

Then there is always the lower slung cruiser option. Sit on as many bikes as possible before making a decision. Don't let the sportbike fanatics try to sway you if a cruiser is what you like. But then, don't set your mind on one style yourself either. Whatever you choose, it will be a bike, and it will be yours....
