New Rider near Tampa Florida

#1 Unread post by alabaster »

Hello. Finally bought an SV650. :D I wanted one for years, and finally bought one last Saturday. I put aover 250 miles on it in less than two days. I didn't even know how to change gears when I got it. I had to have my boss ride it home. I had ridden scooters and what not before. but I longed for a real bike, so I bought one without even knowing how to ride. I plan to take a MSF class soon, and have already gotten my permit and all. I look forward to many years of safe, and enjoyable riding. My only beef is that I don't have any friends that ride. I suppose that will all change over time. Who knows, maybe I'll meet some folks at Quaker Steak and Lube and go out with them sometime. I look forward to talking to you all and learning a lot while I'm supposed to be working and can't ride my bike.

Welcome aboard! I didn't have any (local) riding friends when I started either. But in the past year, I've met a couple of good riding buddies through these forums, and we've even forged a friendship that goes beyond the biking. Have fun with your new world, and enjoy the forums.

Cheers,
Loonette
