Bees and motorcycles don't mix...

#1 Unread post by camthepyro »

First off, sorry I haven't posted much recently, I've been very busy with work like 50 hours a week, and 18 hours of commuting a week.

Anyway, so to the story!

Bees are motorcycles don't mix I found out yesterday on my commute home. While riding at good pace of about 45mph, having a grand ol' time, enjoying the ride and the wind, something very unexpected happened. All of the sudden I felt a very sharp pain in my armpit. About a quarter of a second passes before I realize a bee has some how flown all the way up the sleeve of my leather jacket, up the sleeve of my work shirt, and up the sleeve of my undershirt, onto to my armpit. Now, I assume it's the natural reaction of a bee to sting when it is scared, but I still don't forgive it. The people driving behind me must have thought I was crazy, when the motorcycle crusing in front of them suddenly starts weaving and swatting himself. So about a half second after I realize a bee has stung me, I get stung again. At this point I was wilding swatting my armpit, while pulling into a parking lot, and stripping off my backpack, jacket, and both shirts. But this time I'm sure the other drivers had called the sanitarium, letting them know one of their patients has some how escaped on a motorcycle that he obviously has no idea how to drive.

So to finish off a long story, I killed the bee, put my clothes back on, smoked a cigarette to calm down, and rode back home, with pains in my armpit whenever I moved my arm.

Moral of the story: bees and motorcycles don't mix.

LOL! I had almost exactly the same thing happen to me (except it was a wasp) earlier this week!

It's a bit distracting. :|

I'd say that was an attack... but we'll have to open it to the floor for a vote.

I took a yellow jacket up the nose at about 50mph the other day... stung me right in the cartilage that runs up the middle of your nose. I nailed the brakes and ducked in the closest parking lot, stripped off my helmet and blew snot rockets until I got him out (albeit in multiple pieces). Couldn't breathe in through that side of my nose for a couple hours and it felt like someone punched me in the face.

I sneezed the next day and blew one of his legs out.
