the sporty 12 is not a bad bike at all. 6 grand is a decent price on a used one. the sporty 12 is the fastest of the air cooled harleys (though that might change with the new 1584cc engine coming).
the rubber mounted engine makes a big difference. I have been a passenger on an 03 and have ridden an 06. the difference is night and day. The 03 transmitted a lot of vibration to both rider and passenger, the 06 that I rode only had a little vibration and it was more of a throb than a buzz.
the sporty was effortless to ride in a straight line but it does take a little muscle on the bars to get the bike to lean over.
