cramp
cramp
hi , i am a37yr old male who owns a ZX6R. Before this i owned a fireblade and a ZZR600. I have always suffered terribly with cramp in my hands especially the throttle hand which really hampers long distance riding. Any tips to overcome this would be really helpful. Many thanks.

Using more abdominal muscle will help you relax your hand position, with the obvious benefit of better abs. The bars are really controls more than handles or rests, except for racers who experience the extremes of acceleration and braking off and on several times a minute. We don't really need to hang on tight most of the time if you think about it. Of course here is the pitch for a standard. The angle of your clip-ons doesn't put your wrist in a great position, unless you move around alot like a racer. So, try moving around more...the bike won't care.
Ride safe...God bless!

Your grip on the bike, should be coming from your thighs.Get someone to hold the bike upright, whilst you assume the position. You should be able to lift both hands off the bars, without having to reposition your weight. Get used to that, and you should find your cornering agility improves too
