That was a pretty big factor for me getting a new stock rear tire when it was time to get a new one. If the tire you have now does everything that you ask of it... stick with it.
the pilot powers is only $18 more expensive and looking at it's specs, $18 seems like it's more than worth it.

the other tires i heard that is of equal quality is the dunlop qualifiers.
$18 more per tire, but they wear out twice as fast - assumption based on the fact my back tire was good for about 19000 km which is roughly 12000miles, and that your stocks are aproximately similar to that. Accounting as well for added wear the middle of my tire would be taking from Alberta's distinct lack of twisty roads.

So really it's 2X the cost +$18.

I ask again - if you aren't using your regular tires to even close to their potential... why are you buying more expensive "better" ones?
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

well that just it, im not comfortable w/ the stock tires to push it to a 51º lean angle.

and it's $18 more for a set, not just one.

and like i said... if i can get 3500 to 4000 miles w/ pilot powers, i'll be ok w/ it.

i doubt i'll get 10,000 miles on my stock tires though. but we'll see.

I've seen your ride video... you didn't make it past 80 degrees, let alone get to 50. Based on your tire pictures, not much has changed.

*edit* assume you only get 7000miles out of a pair of stock tires, that's still twice as much as the pilots. Which means you're paying twice as much for tires.

I ask a third time - if you aren't using your regular tires to even close to their potential... why are you buying more expensive "better" ones?

actually, i've improved a lot since that last vid. i was very new to my bike that time.

anyway... like i said, i wanna try it since i heard so many good things about it, and it will add to my comfort level and therefore make me push myself more since i trust my tires.

i don't trust the stock ones that much.

if you're not going to listen to what people are saying, ("don't bother getting them"), why do you even bother to post this question?

I think you need to give TMW mike a couple of hundered bucks for sall the bandwidth that you waste.

WTF?

i wasn't asking why i should change my tires. im just asking if the advertisements are accurate.

sev brought up why i wanna change tires so i answered him. so we got sidetracked.

i got some questions answered though. and i like it, 5000 miles is more than what i was expceting for its life.

Why? Odds are, Suzuki knew what they were doing when they picked the BT's for the stock tires.

the 1st comment is something i wanna hear. i wanna know how great they are as street tires from those that have used them or know somebody personally that have used them.

the 2nd comment, i could care less about it.
