Now, now, Bob.

You know that ain't true. Lawyers rank lower, and the fact that these salespeople are just lawyers-in-training still puts them half a rung higher on the ladder.
no no they are disbarred lawyers.

sounds like a bunch of crap to me. if they do bother to phone back, and you still want that Bonny, tell them they now have to kick in something to make the deal work since you are highly dissatisfied.

if you are really ticked off, find the name of the owner and write them a nasty letter saying how poorly you were treated and let them know you will be sending a copy of the letter to the BBB as well.

if nothing else it might feel good to vent, and the owner might not know his folks are being crooked.

Anyway, we get everything ready, signed, etc and I'm putting on my new gear to ride and they tell me there's a problem. They want a bigger down payment and are increasing my finance rate.
If you have a signend contract with them, they can no more decide to change the terms than you could if you decided to pay less than the amount on the contract. They must abide by the contract.

You can insist that they comply with the terms of the contract. If they refuse, you can have a lawyer spend 5 min. scaring them into it, or you could advise your state's Attorney General's office. This kind of last minute switch is not unusual at vehicle dealers and the A.G.'s office will usually raise a big stink about it.

Sorry to hear that you're not riding that beautiful bike you mentioned. The Triumph Bonny, is a very nice looking bike. A friend of mine just picked one up. I got the pleasure of taking it for a spin. I was very impressed with it.

find the name of the owner and write them a nasty letter
I agree. When I bought my Ford Escape last year they originally told me my payments would be $303.79. Then at the last minute when I went to pick up the vehicle, they told me my payments would be $337. I was pissed. After arguing with the "sales manager" for 10 minutes, I decided to go find the owner. I told the owner how pissed I was and told him if I couldn't have my payments back where we had agreed, I was going to see the BBB. He immediatly pulled the sales manager in his office and got my payments back.

Ofcourse after that, they still tried to give me the run-around. When I went home, I noticed the grill brackets were broken so the grill could just fall out. I also tried playing a CD in the 6 disc changer and that wouldn't work because some genius had jammed 3 cds into it. When I went back they tried to charge me for the repairs. $200 for a grill you can find on e-bay for $75 new, and $500 for the damn stereo!!! I once again, went to the owner and he waived the charges. He also threw in a pet divider for the back, a full tank of gas(worth $45 for that pig), and a car wash. He has since fired all 3 people I worked with on my deal for producing "shady" deals. The sales manager was keeping down payments and claiming none were getting paid.

Moral of the story, find the owner and let them know the situation. They may just hook you up good.

Sorry for rambling. :D

Thanks for the feedback. I think I'm just going to forget about this bike, keep trying to sell my Jeep outright, and save a few extra dollars for a Harley Sportster

I dont mean to make your day any worse but you should know because the dealership ran credit check on you there is now an inquiry on your credit report with the three major credit bureaus. Because of the greedy nature of that dealership they really did screw you...because now your credit score has just been lowered due to the inquiry. This will make it harder for you to get good financing from other places. Sorry for the crappy scum dealers...too bad there isnt a way we could track honest dealers apart from bad ones.
