The wave

We were just laughing about this yesterday, does anyone remember the Seinfeld episode with the (hope I have the car right) Toyota Prius drivers waving...?

Seinfeld is great. Didn't see that episode, but I wouldn't be suprised if that was actually true.

As I was riding today I saw another biker for the first time, a guy and his girlfriend on the back. I waved as he looked at me but for whatever reason didn't wave back.

My first wave was the other day with my dad as we were riding around in the neighborhood.

If you drive by San Antonio, make sure you wave. Every yellow Ninja I see I'm going to assume is you...

Every biker I've passed by in the last week has waved - sportbikes, cruisers, one up, two up, every one of them. Nice bunch of folks around here

Did you have a problem with the age, the clothing, or choice of ride? because honestly none of them should matter. That's a pretty long screening process for a simple wave. "Oh here comes a bike, wait...oh yeah they have gear...oh wait , wait ...ok in they are in thier 20's, oh wait wait it's a cruiser.. ABORT WAVE ABORT WAVE...

I wave at everyone regardless of bike or gear, it really dosen't matter if get a wave back or not. It's just hello people :motorcycle:

I am wondering if anyone gives a wave to someone on a "scooter", one of those little moped things. I never get a wave back from those guys.

Oddly enough people riding scooters are just about the only ones who have waved to me since I started riding last week. I think I've seen appox. 20-30 two wheeled machines this week, while riding, only two motorcyclists waved to me. (Guy on a BMW and a girl on a Harley) Other than that just scooters, like all of them. Makes me think I should have gotten a Majesty instead.

I think waving is important, an outward sign of solidarity to all 2 wheelers. I wave to everyone unless at the time some cage is trying to kill me. Scooter riders wave back most of the time. Here in Toronto many people have their noses up their a$$es and think they're better than the rest, so about 20% of my waves are unanswered. That's life here. Those who don't wave are split pretty equally between sport riders and cruisers. The vast majority of those on old bikes seem to wave, though I don't know why.

I've heard British riders have no tradition of waving, so expect them to not understand and don't expect one back.
