Hello World! I'm new here. I'm a 36-year-old father of two -- soon to be father of four, because we have twin girls due in November.

I've been riding motorcycles since before I had a driver's license -- 20 years now. I started out putzing around in the dirt on my old Honda SL125, and I bought my first road bike in 1993 -- a 1979 Yamaha XS650F. Actually, that's still my bike. It's gone from 6,400 miles to around 19,000 miles, and it's starting to show its age...I'm thinking that when I can, I'll be tearing it apart and rebuilding it because I just like the darn thing.

I seem to get my bike legal and on the road about every other year these days, and this seems to be the off year, what with all the hullaballoo about the twins coming, and needing to buy a minivan (eww) and all.

Anyway, hello, and I'll try not to be a jerk around here... :D

Welcome and congrats on your family additions!

Where in MI are you? I'm just north of Ann Arbor.

Hey, thanks everybody!

RN -- We've looked at those "cost of living" websites, where 100 is the national average, and New York City is like 462, and the middle of sandy no-where, Wyoming is like 62. Traverse City is 101. Houses up here run from $90k for a 2000sq.ft. Victorian in hick-ville, to $1.6million for a spec-built split-level with beach frontage on Lake Michigan.

YellowWing -- Yeah, my wife has twin nephews as well...

Kim -- I'm 20miles south of Traverse City

blues -- thanks....no they're not. :D
