I want shorter

My husband and I are goign to try and lower our older bike 82 suzuki, I've heard you can strip the seats. Any other ideas. I just want to be flat foot before I ride it. Thanks for any ideas

Go to places that sell bike parts (J,C Whitney for one) and look for bike lowering kits. They don't have them for all models, but you may be able to find yours.

Riding boots might help, it'll stabalize your feet and probably give you a good inch. Something with an oil resistant sole is good.

when you do lower it, make sure you have your suspension set up or braking could become an issue. if your suspension doesn't have the correct amount of play, and you do a hard stop you can bottom out those forks i would imagine.

verm is it the boots I should get or the swim suit?? Some how I don't see the swim suit giving me much protection when I crash, but hey atleast I will look cute. :roll:

Can't remember how your Zook's forks are set up, but you may be able to slide them up in the clamps to lower the front a bit. You may also find shorter shocks for the rear or some lowering blocks to drop it 1 or 2 inches out back.

And don't knock the platform shoes idea. You may find some thick-soled boots that'll make the difference.
