Yes, a street rod is less than a v-rod. I think it's because it's an extremely non-traditional Harley. They are trying to make the bike more attractive to buyers who wouldn't normally buy a harley.
The Screaming Eagle version is a V-rod that's been tweaked (with custom paint and goodies) along w/ engine mods to give it a torque and HP output about 10% more than the normal 'rod.

In Australia the V-Rod has been a relatively slow mover compared to Europe where they have been bought up enthusiastically.
Perhaps this also has something to do with the lower pricing of the Street-Rod?
I'd buy the Street-Rod over the V-Rod any day.
P.S. I LIKE Chrome.
Polished Alloy SUCKS!

Have just read 2 New Aussie reviews on the Street Rod & I'm pretty sure this will be my next bike. I like everything about it, pretty much anyway.
If it's as good as the V-Rod.....I'm gettin one!

A new HD dealer opened up a couple of weeks ago, almost in my backyard. It's only about a mile away from home. Of course I went in to take a look around. They had a VRSC-A and a VRSC-R side by side in the showroom. I spent about 15 minutes looking over the two bikes comparing all the visual differences. There are still a few pieces from the VROD that I like better than the Street ROD but over all the Street ROD is the winner in my mind. I threw a leg over both and the riding postion on the Street Rod is a lot better for my style or riding. It's a pretty good fit. I would love to take one for a test ride. I'm waiting for them to have some open house or something. They haven't had any big grand opening, like I would have expected. I think they are still trying to put the finishing touches on the dealership at this point though. They are open for business but there were still contractors inside finishing up stuff when I was in there.
There isn't much room for riding two-up on the any of the VRods. I guess you would need to go to Corbin for that. I like the wheels better on the Street Rod than the solid rims on the VRod but they still seemed like they could have been nicer looking. I didn't like the rough finish on the wheels. I guess I would just look for some aftermarket rims that would suit the Rod.

I don't care too much for the V-Rods in general, just an asthetic thing-something about the front ends really turns me off. I sat on a Street Rod at the dealer a couple weeks ago-The seating position is really high for a HD.
I like the Street GLIDE a whole lot though, lol

I'm SOLD on the Street Rod for sure.
It's the only bike that I have seen in ages that made me go WOW! when I saw it for the fist time.
I have ridden 2 V-Rods & they go incredibly Fast, the Rod is faster so that can't be bad....
This bike will be my next purchase.
