Parking and shopping carts

Ok, well after work I stop at Home Depot because I need a staple gun for the passenger seat I'm reupholstering. I park my bike in a spot and it is favoring the left side of the spot in case another bike wants to pull in next to me. I'm in the store for no more than 20 minutes and when I get outside, what do I see? Two big orange shopping carts next to my bike...

WHAT KIND OF LAZY LOW LIFE WOULD DO THAT? NOT JUST ONE LAZY LOW LIFE, BUT TWO STUPID LAZY LOW LIFES!!!!!!

Well I did a quick visual inspection to see if there were any dings on my bike and luckily nothing.

Anyways, just had to vent...

Where's the punch line?

Low-lifes are the ones who just let their carts roll away without even looking where they roll. I've seen that quite a few times. Some just leave it wherever they are without attemptting to secure it from rolling and the wind or lot slope causes 'em to roll away. I'd swear others give 'em a push. Sometimes run to stop their carts from hitting cars... and a few times I've been unable to stop them in time. Not my car/bike, but it still pisses me off. Shrug.

What you described was just carts sitting near your bike. Don't like it? Park further from the door than anyone else. That's what I do. Further from the door and up hill/up wind of everyone else if possible.

Parking uphill and far far away - good point. I do that all the time now in any shopping cart area ever since the time I saw some losers let their carts roll off and smack! right into the BMW car.

Little plastic Target carts dont so much damage...when one of those big steel lumber carts at Home Depot starts rolling, look out!

I was with the fiancee on sunday in her car when we stopped in at Lowe's to grab some potting soil. I noticed some dudes bike was clear on the other side of the parking lot. I guess he practices the stellar advice above. I'm going to start parking far away as well.
