Well in a lot of ways I like it - no guessing about whether or not I got into gear, etc. I just wanted to make sure it was supposed to be that way. :)

H-D gearbox's are clunky, but you must be kind to them & not change down to soon.

From Top gear I change down to 3rd & then before I change down any more I wait until I am almost stationary then I go 2nd & just before I stop I plop it into 1st.

Reduces primary chain lash & makes your gear changes smoother.
