Polished aluminum discoloration on engine block

#1 Unread post by Old Hippy »

Hey all...

I am new to this forum and I need some advice. I own a 2004 Big Dog Mastiff and it's a beauty. One problem is the engine is a polished aluminum S&S 107ci and it has a reddish stain on the block from, what I gather, the previous owner sprayed some sort of cleaner on the engine while it was hot. It needs to be cleaned and I'm asking for opinions as how to get it looking new again. Any comments??

I've tried some of the usual cleaning products and scrubbed with a stiff toothbrush, but no help. I need a magical answer...!!!! These stains are NOT easy to access on a V Twin engine, especially a polished one.

Nope, just funky discoloration or start of rust.
