I wanna go home

#1 Unread post by Shorts »

Tired of JPN. Tired if the city and all the noise it makes on my front sidewalk. Tired of neighbors and kids constantly upset and screaming. Tired of DH gone. Tired of talking to the dog. Tired of nowhere to go. Tired of the traffic and terrible drivers when I do have somewhere to go.

I miss the food. I miss the gulf coast. I miss my friends and family. I miss having a life of my own to pursue. Miss my truck, my the yard and big driveway. Miss my guns. Miss dancing at a real bar and dancehall.

I do workout a lot, look good but no one to see it. I do have a motorcycle, but can't ride it, see above with DH gone. I do have Vonage, doesn't anyone answer their phones anymore? I do drink more with girlfriends, my liver hates it and my body hurts some mornings as I'm not 22 anymore.

Yeah, its time to go home and refill my soul.

The shrines and temples are neat (and everywhere), but there are some gaijin are not allowed in, mainly the big big ones. It costs money to enter the big ones. Travel to and from is the biggest issue. Travel is costly. The train from here to Tokyo, roundtrip runs $300-500 per person. Tolls are $120 each way to Tokyo in a car, plus gas and 8hr drive each way. Flights can be equally costly, but only take 1-2hrs travel time.

The bullet train feels the same as any subway train. You don't really feel a sense of going fast unless you look at the window at the passing world. The train is also very smoky. The best chain smokers in the US would suffocate in any normal JPN smoking section. They don't stand a chance.

I haven't been to the national museum. In fact I cannot recall what city it is in off the top of my head. I've only spent a few days in Tokyo and some time traveling in the Aomori prefecture.

He's just out for exercise, we're on shore tour now. Surprisingly shore trour has been busier than last station in an operational squadron. He lucky, he's the one that gets to do the leaving. I'm always the one left behind.

Deros is Nov 08, so we'll be here for a whike. Though, we're planning to head back to the States this coming Feb. for a wedding and to see both our families.

I know the feeling (though nowhere near the extent you have) of being away from everyone and everything you know. The best advice i can give you is to look foward to when you go back, and each day just think to your self that soon you'll be back where you belong. That, or just kinda take off and go on your own, though that may be a little dificult being there's an ocean between you and home.
