When I ride at night I am lit up like a Christmas tree. If someone says they "didn't see me" they are lying.
I have so much reflective stuff I can be seen for miles.

Me too
Me too;
When I'm with a group they ask me to ride tailgunner.
My retroreflective patches make even the big SUVs back off!
It is noticeable. They stay back 5 car lengths or more.
I love it.

I ride on the freeway at about mid nite every other week. I slow my speed down a bit,and watch for gaters on the road. Also I give 18,s a wide berth due to the wind that they are able to push my way. I give them the pull back over signal by turning on my bright lite for a moment. If they blink thier tail lite at you that means thanx.
Just in case you don't know gaters are pieces of blown tires that are lying on the road.
If you know the area well you will be OK.

This is my helmet and my bike from the rear:

This is my rain gear setup w/ my reflective vest on that I wear to be more noticeable as well.
My helmet and the fiancee's helmet. Mine looks like it was done by a 4 year old.

I also have a pimpin' reflective backpack I got on eBay that I added some circular reflective dots to it. I need to get a pic of it sometime but I'm too lazy to do it right now.
