Mine was braking related. I was braking as I went over a patch of ice the front wheel slowed down, and the back wheel kept going at speed because of the ice... so it caught up to the front and everything went downhill from there.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

Its been so long since I rode on a regular basis, I have been so distracted with so many things, I find myself not set up for slow speed turns very well. I seem not very coordinated.

Just stick with it, and be careful about what you do... everything should turn out okay.

Shoot, missed the poll. I check the braking problem. Kept trying to keep up with faster bikes, then after I'd get there, they'd brake (much better braking than my bike), and I'd lock up the rear trying to not rear end em. Learned something there! :banging:

Accidents

#17 Unread post by Randy »

While working law enforcement (Military Police) most of the accidents involving motorcycles had to do with the motorcycle rear-ending cars. We always called it following to close. I would guess the real reason would be failing to pay attention. Most of them seemed avoidable.

Of every rider i see it's gotta be looking 50 in front of them, instead of 12 seconds ahead, and not looking thru turns......i like in the mountains of upstate ny, and i see run offs and accidents due to not looking ahead or thru turns all the time.

I sometimes catch myself not scanning often enough and just fixating forward, so it's either "not paying attention" or "paying too much attention"
