And one more joins the ranks....BIKE DAY!

SO after a pretty rough work schedule and quite a bit of saving, I have now made my first bike purchase! I have been debating among several things to get and after looking at insurance costs among other things, decided on this baby...

I love it. At first I wasnt crazy about the fairings(I tend to like nakeds) but it did take some of the wind off of me which was nice. Took a couple miles to get used to some stuff, but after that control was relatively intuitive. I can already tell it'll serve me well, and at the very least, allow me to build up my skills for a year or two.

I'm sure I'll post more pics. I got a new helmet too...Shoei TC-1...awesome :)

Hell yeah! Welcome to the road! I breifly considered a GS500F, but I ended up going naked (its more fun, right? :) ) I dig that helmet man....I'm kind of wishing I got one with brighter colors that is a bit more visible....although, maybe having 2 helmets isn't a bad thing right? Keep the shiny side up!

Congrats man. I wish I were in your shoes (or riding boots?). Worked all summer and I'm closer to my first bike, but not quite there. Got $3k saved up but need another 2k or so all the gear, insurance, and, of course, the bike.
Have fun on the open /¦\

What happend to your right mirror?

The Mickey Mouse ears really throw me off those kinds of bikes. But it's a minor annoyance since the GS500E is just so damn sexy.

I took it off for awhile becuase it looked better, but it got old not being able to do a quick check over my right shoulder. The one on the left was not an origanal mirror, it came off my old maxim.(may the rusty money wasting POS rot in hell  )

But both the origanal mirrors are back on now. function over form I guess.

Very beautiful bike! I'm very envious.

Here's to hoping you and your new steed enjoy thousands of happy miles together! :motorbike:
