There not just good for around town. Had mine for 3 years now and it's still a lot of fun to ride, have even taken it down the drag strip a few times. It's good 2 up (unless your both on the large side) and I've even been to rallies on it with all my kit. The only downside (and it's not really a downside) is that it has no screen, and you can get aftermarket items, but I've never felt the need to.

Derailer, I just picked up a yellow 2005 sv650s, and I think it's a great bike. Torquey vtwin power is sure to put a grin on your face. Here is a picture of what it will look like when my lower fairings arrive...

Top-gear roll-on, 60-80 mph: 4.44 sec.
