If you find a salesperson, odds are they'll roll the bike to a safe place and let you sit on it. Those signs are usually to keep people from hopping on a bike and dropping it while nobody is looking/there to prevent it.
Ride it like you think owning it matters.

Probably a rush to judgment on my part. I'll stop back in on Friday and see if I can size one up properly.

Finally, just got out on a nice long ride with my new M50. I've had it out but not for a prolonged ride. Truly awesome. The clutch is easy, gear shifting is smooth and the brakes, contrary to belief, are responsive and strong.

ManCalledNova,
Where abouts in Indiana are you from? I'm in Southern Indiana, and hit mainly two Suzuki dealers when I was in the market for my M50. I hit Big4 Cycle in Evansville, which was nice, but they only had a red one, and Vincennes Motorcycle, which is where I got my blue one. That place was really nice, the people there were GREAT, so if you're in this vicinity, I recommend hitting the Vincennes one.
Also, take your wife, too...especially if she's going to eventually ride "2-Up" with you on it. I made sure and included my wife with my decision. Yes, she was more into the aesthetics of the bike, but if my attractive wife likes the way the bike looks...then others probably will, too. :P Just kidding!!!
Seriously, though. I felt a lot better after including my wife in on the purchase of it. I know she was really nervous about me getting my first bike, and was about sick. Including her when I went places helped calm her down a lot. Actually, she followed me home from the Vincennes dealer after I picked my bike up!
Anyway, this is the really fun part of motorcycling...looking for that "perfect" bike.
Take your time and ENJOY!!!

I'm not positive, but I think the 07's may be out around late August/early September. I'm trying to think of when I was looking around last year. I couldn't find a 650 Custom around that time, and around September the new color scheme came out. I liked the 2005 VStar 650 color scheme (blue with blue ghost flames) more than the '06 VStar, so that also helped with my choice...and the fact I could get a new '05 M50 for about the same price as a brand new '06 VStar.
Here in Mexico, start to sale the ´07 right now, I will have next week a black one ´07....

I was checking all my options before I decide the M50. I start trying to buy a Marauder 250, but riders friends told me that in a short time I will want to change for a bigger, so I saw a Shadow 600 too, and finally I took the Boulevard M50. (My first option cost 4,000 usd and finally I pay 8,500 usd for the M50)
Road Star Silverado 1700 2005
Suzuki Boulevard M50 2007 (sold)
