At age 17, you probably have a lot to look forward to, especially being raised by a father who would testify against you in court. Do you know how lucky you are to have a father like that?
You also have a lot of humility for a human. You should embrace the fact that you'll probably have a great life with a rewarding career and that your kids will probably be raised in a healthy two-parent family and try not to do something stupid along the way that will screw up this great thing you have going.

Yeah I'd consider yourself lucky being 17. Had you been over 18 or 21 they would have alot more harsh and it wouldn't get wiped off your record.
I had a buddy of mine get clocked for doing 110 on a 55mph roadway in his car, he got lucky because he was 17. It was a felony but since he was 17 it got wiped off his record two months later when he turned 18.
If you are picked up for DUI and do your Field Sobritey Tests and fail those and refuse the breath test or a blood draw then you are automaticly charged at the legal drunk level in my state. I've put in enough lisence suspensions and been on enough ride alongs to see that one constantly. So you can refuse you will still be charged.
I am truely horrified at the sheer number of drunk drivers on the roads. We pick up half a dozen a night and thats while officers are responding to other calls and stop the vehicle behaving oddly. The ones staked out for them snatch them up like candy, its disgusting.

I must have been incredibly lucky. I picked up some friends at a party that was being busted up by some cops. I was not pulled over, but an officer was trying to make me take a brethalyzer in order for me to leave. I refused to do the brethalyzer but did agree to do his 'follow the light with your eyes' test, which I passed as I had only had two beers three hours back.

Thank God I live in Canada, Up here you would have gotten a 110.00 fine for being intoxicated in public and driven home to your parents, maby not even a fine or driven home but just told to go home. It just depends on the cop, hell even if they catch you with some weed they just take it away and tell you to get out of there. Taking away your driving privelages is a joke but I guess you will know not to be out in public drunk again

That is extremely poor advice. If you refuse to take a breathalyzer test you will still be arrested & have your license suspended.
The one thing you can do in a DWI stop is refuse to take any of the field tests. The field tests are only meant to collect more evidence against you. And that evidence will be video taped most likely as well.
People are under the impression if you pass a field test you'll be let go. That doesn't happen even if you are under the limit. Most states can charge you with something lesser than DWI.
Another night and another handful of admin lisence suspensions. One guy refused, his lisence is still suspended and he gets to go to court anyway. Its all on the paperwork.
Another guy was driving on an already suspended lisence.
Not counting the two people on suspended lisences for DUI and the one dude on a revoked lisence for DUI.
Its not a joke and still makes me ill that anyone drinks and drives although I am not blaming hte OP for that sin. Thou getting drunk in public underaged still amazes me.
