A buddy of mine made home brew beer in his dorm room while I was at college. I think we let it sit for about half the recommended time it was supposed to before we cracked er open... (college students, we had no patience) it tasted terrible... although we did get to have it in actual beer bottles since my buddy was a bus boy at the local bar and got a bunch of empties from them (yes, we sterilized them and bought the capping press)
My neighbour at the cottage brewed his own beer. the stuff was good, but strong! and he bottled it in those 1.5 litre plastic bottles.... portions are everything! *LOL*
And tech, why do you think its called "The Curse"?

I tried a friend's homemade mead once. It was...to put it mildly, rather revolting.
Let us know how yours turns out - maybe it was the recipe. Good luck!

Before my kids were born I probably homebrewed about 50 gallons of beer a year. All were top fermenting ales such as IPA's and wheat brews. If fact when my son was born, I brewed a cream ale for the occasion and popped a label with his pic and birth announcement on it and handed em out instead of cigars.

Never tried mead, but I've brewed a total of 3 batches of beer. First one was barely drinkable, 2nd was ok, 3rd was almost tasty. I've been meaning to brew another batch for the past 6 years or so...
