Hey alright, so I just got a Ninja 250 96' with 25k, and it needs new tires. Please dont have because i have done my reading but I might just be a little slower because I think that i shoulda get a 100/90 and a 130/90 (instead of the 100/80 and 130/80 that comes stock) I have read this artical over and over http://faq.ninja250.org/wiki/Tires_101:_An_Introduction But really have not gained all that much information about the aspect raito, whitch is what im wondering about, What is the main thing that i will notice ?
Also I do have limited funds, so what would maby be a good brand \ model to go with for less than 100$ a tire?
(Ps i Dont really want to adjust my front Fender)
Thanks a Bunch
-Nate
Ninja 250 Tires!!!
There's just not too much available in the 100/80/16 and 130/80/16 stock sizes for the Ninja 250 except the OEM Dunlop K630 tires and a couple others. Recommended fitments by their makers include the excellent Metzeler Lasertecs and Pirelli Sport Demons in the 110/90/16 and 130/90/16 sizes both of which are far superior to the OEM Dunlops. The quite good Bridgestone BT45 are also available in these sizes.
The pre 94 EX500 Ninja had the same size wheels and the Metz and Pirelli fitments are the same. The Demons seem to be most popular with the gang over at the EX500 forum for these bikes. Doubt you'll ever notice the difference in aspect ratio, these new tires will handle so much better than the OEM types and you can be sure they will fit your front fender if they've been tested by the tire makers and reccommended by them.
They can be purchased online for less than $200 a pair including shipping charges. Check prices:
