THE TRIFECTA!!! ...toe, knee, and elbow dragging!
Yes he is very skilled but whats the fact it has 'stock' suspension and 'stock' tires got to do with anything???

You've been told, the Gixxer is a race bike - it's designed to competively run in races. They just add-on the lights and horn to allow them to sell it to people that want a racebike on the road.

I don't think Verm needs a project bike. He admits he's not much of a mechanic.

nope... they are only race replicas.

it needs a lot more work to be real race bike.

1. engine needs to be race tuned.
2. shave all the uneccessary weight by removing or replacing parts.
(a racebike bike version of my bike is probably only 320lbs compared to a stock 360lbs )
3. suspension.
4. brakes.
5. exhaust sys.
6. tires.
7. some others that i don't recall right now.

but of course... you don't need all that if you're not a pro.

im just saying... RR bikes are far from true race bikes.

when you're in to competitive racing, thats correct verm. But until then, a stock race rep will still do you proud, and allow you to master the racing techniques

Verm. You're a "procreating" muppet. Its a race bike deal with it. They have been raced straight from the dealers with only a stop off to lose the lighting rigs by privateers.

Yes if you are Rossi or Shaky or someone then fine because milliseconds coundt at their end of the game but...

YOU ARENT. Your mechanic could get any of those setup as a trackday only bike with no stress and under a budget of 2k - which you are spending on a mod which you arent riding hard enough to actually need.

The point of a trackbike is a machine you can push to your absolute limits secure in the knowledge that if it goes down you can sort it out.

And no that dosnt mean putting everyone elses insurance premiums up? (When a bike is wrecked where DO you think the money for the repair/replacement comes from?)

I'm getting angry with you, and it's mostly because there will be a never ending series of excuses. If you want it bad enough you'll do what it takes to get yourself there. If you don't no problem, just don't whine about it because I will slap you senseless.

a guy on a FZ1 was running away from cops last night live on TV. do i b!tch about my premiums? nope.

motorcycle accidents in the canyons is very very common. do i b!tch about it? nope.

im also one of the poor schmucks you are referring to but there's no use bitching about other people raising my premiums. it can't be helped.

EDIT... the pic i posted... he actually has dunlop 208 GP tires... that's race tires right there. it's still impressive nonetheless.

maybe you should, or do you mean that its okay for you to do it because everyone else is doing it?

nope, i just think it's pointless to b!tch about it.

i pay for insurance and i hope i don't have to use it. but in the unfortunate event that i do need it (like when my bike was stolen). i'll be glad to have it and i don't see anything wrong depending on it.

however, i do b!tch about uninsured motorist... not only is it irresponsible, it's also against the law here.
