I don't have time to navigate all the foregoing pages to see if I have a competitor, but my very first ride aside from various scooters was on an Indian Scout at 14 years of age, That was in 1938 (you do the math). I can't say it was when I actually began riding cuz about 35 years and a war elapsed before I got serious about 49 years of age when I started riding observed trials for a few years until it became boring and went to XC & enduros on both bikes & Quads till they became boring and went to street bike riding in 02 on my current M/S. Many broken bones & scrapes before that  .

Took MSF, got licensed, bought Rebel, and took first ride at 39. Two weeks later, I turned 40.

Now have my Aero 750.

At 50, maybe I will get a Harley or a Victory. But it's so far off, I don't even like to tease myself!

I was 30 years old.

I always wanted a bike, but was afraid of what I'd do on it. So I decided that I wouldn't ride until I could afford a new Harley big twin.

When I hit 30, I decided 'What am I waiting for?'

I still can't afford a new big twin due to other financial priorities, so I did some research and found out that a beginner shouldn't have a big twin ANYWAY. I got my 750 ACE, took the MSF, and here we are.

First bike was a Honda mini 50 at age 7, first street bike was an on-off road Yamaha 175, DT model if memory serves me. That was at age 16.

I first thought about it back in '93. I wanted an HD sportster 883 hugger in Mandarin Orange. The girlfriend at the time squashed the idea because she knew so many people who had gotten hurt on them.

I'm just starting now at 35. The GF is now my wife and after I dropped the bike bomb on her, she managed to listen to me long enough to learn about the MSF course that I want to take. Reluctantly, she agreed and we packed up the kids and went to the HD dealer to look at sporties.

The 883 looked too small and felt cramped so we looked at the 1200C with the forward controls. The street bob caught my wife's eye, but with the 96" v twin, I felt it's too much bike for a rookie and I didn't want to risk dumping a $15k bike on it's side (or me on my "O Ring").

I'm taking the MSF course in 2 weeks and got the Vulcan 900 classic. It has the same type of look as the HD's, but it's more affordable. I eventually want a HD Fat Boy, but that day will come.

I started in my late in my early 20ies
Well I started to learn on my Dad's old Norton in the field behind our house in the summer of 1964. I was fourteen at the time. As soon as I was sixteen I started riding on the road with a 200 Triumph Cub. I tend to say I really started riding once I had a licensed bike on the road and that was the old triumph cub and was 40 years ago. I've gone through a number of bikes over the years. Mostly BMW's, Brit Bikes and Harleys.
