All summer my Suzuki GN400 '81 hasn't been what it used to be. -just didn't have the power. Getting it to 50 -55 was even hard - skipping some times. I figured it was the CDI again and I had shorted something messing with it - or the fuel or the magneto coil. I had it apart and couldn't find anything. It felt ok but just no zip. RPM's looked ok. I had my wife follow me in the car and at about 45 to 50 I lost her. So I'd be upset- (she likes to drive slow anyway!) and creep along until she'd show up in the mirror. Then I'd lose her again. Frustrating. We got back to the house and she told me how fast I was going. My speedo was reading 15-20 mph under the actual speed.
I replaced the speedo and the zip is back. It happened so slowly I never noticed it. -did notice that it was a little harder to stick the corners but figured the suspension was getting old!
