helmetless riders...

#1 Unread post by Erick Van\m/ »

Ok on these forums you see a lot of people who wear all the gear, full face helmets, etc. and seem to get sick to their stomach when they see people without a helmet, a small bucket, or no other gear.

Im curious if when I ride by another biker who isnt wearing proper gear or a helmet (me in everything with full face helm), do they look at me and think "what a moron wearing all that crap!" or something to that effect.

helmetless riders....what do you think of us? any animosity? d

oes it go both ways?

i did get a lot of funny looks when i went to a bike show that is dominated by cruiser and chopper riders.

personally, i don't care what other people wear.

although... if it's a friend of mine. i will try to convince them to wear proper gear. but even then, im not gonna force the issue if they don't listen the 1st time.

On the fence, perhaps.

I am either on the fence, or perhaps jump between the far ends of each yard. I wear a full helmet, and will occasionally go with no helmet... however, I won't wear a half helmet.

To me, a half helmet is no better protection than no helmet.

My only real dislike in the gear of others is seeing someone riding in sandals. That is just impractical :D

honeslty I really don't care what people wear. I know what I want to protect.

When I see a helmetless rider, I just hope that he doesn't get hurt and cast another bad image of motorcyclists.

A certain part of me envies those who feel comfortable riding without gear. I'm not comfortable without gear, so I wear it. End of story.

I don't understand why someone would look down on them for it. It's their choice, and I don't buy into the argument that their decision ruins everyone elses insurance rates. There are a whole lot of issues that make a bigger difference to our rates.
