Done with my brc msf class!

I've passed my msf class and it was great. I had no previous experience and learned a lot. I'm going to look at bikes this week. After a lot of thinking i've narrowed it down to a sport bike either the ninja 500 or gs500f. My question is to those of you who have take the msf class. How easy was it to go from the little 250 kawasakis in the course to a 500cc sportbike....pretty easy...the same....difficult....any input would be great. I realize theres going to be a line of going over the drills again and again. thanx

don't worry about it.

those "sporty" 500cc bikes you mentioned are pretty much tested as great newbie bikes.

good luck, im sure you'll pass the final evaluation.

Well I didn't go to a sport(y) bike after the MSF course, but I did go into a bigger cruiser.

MSF Honda Rebel about 18HP and 320lbs wet.
My 1987 Magna at 80hp and 540lbs

It was a big difference and it took me a few days of riding to adjust. After about 6k under my belt on the Magna I sat on a Buell Blast yesterday and it felt like a scooter. It was so light that I almost picked up off the floor just getting it off it's kickstand! No offense to the Blast owners intended, just comparing its weight.

Well at the MSF range we had alot of 125cc bikes and like 4 250cc's, so I wasn't able to throw a leg over the 250's.

But from the 125cc its a little different. I own a ex500 and you will have more power on hand in any rpm range... but I dont think you will have any difficulties making the switch. It felt good to be able to lean the bike more than all the peg scraping moments I had on the 125cc eliminator (Dont mean for it to sound like I was scraping pegs during the course work, but on the a few of the set ups you would go through one course, then make some u turns to go onto the next set of courses... thats where you got the cool sounds from)

I find it easier to handle my ex500 than the MSF bikes, and I mean that on like turns and low speed manuvers... but maybe thats because Im not use to "cruiser" style seating position... plus with my long legs I had ALOT of trouble shifting and with using the rear brake. I just really wasn't all that comfortable riding the bike.
