Front brakes Squeak.
I was origionally going to post this in General, but decided a maintnence forum would probably be a better place.
My front brakes have been squeaking ever since my lowside last year. I was working on the bike the other day and had a buddy sit on the back of the bike to get the front wheel off the ground, and spun the wheel. It squeaked sure enough, I replaced the front pads last year and did not bleed the brakes afterward.
What do you all suggest to get the brakes to stop squeaking?

Maybe you should try feeding them?
And if they still don't shut up, scream at them, slap 'em across the head, and send them to bed.

I thought that brakes and specficially brake pads were meant to provide friction... wouldn't lubing them sort of defeat the purpose of having them?kathy wrote:Maybe the reason why it squeked because it needs a little lubrication. if it still squeaks, try providing a new one for your safety.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.
