LADIES - Helmet Hair
How do you all deal with helmet hair? I know this has probably been asked before but I fgured I would ask again.
Everytime I wear my helmet my hair gets all sorts of tweaked. I have tried putting it in a pontytail at the back of my neck but its just not long enough to avoid the mess lol..'
Thanks

I wear a Buff like the photo in the second row, middle column

That way my hair isn't flying around in the back getting messy. It does flatten my hair, but it is uniformly flat at least.
Mostly I think you get used to working around helmet hair. I feel like now my hair is better when I commute on my bike than when I take my car![/url]

Yup. I wear a Buff too. I've got, like 6 of them. They help tremendously in making helmet removal more smooth over my triple ear piercings.
I switch from the 'babushka' style to the 'pirate/aund jemima' style (top, second) and the pullover style (bottom right).

Luckily my hair is short and naturally curly/wavey, so my helmet hair makes me look like scruffy matted boy hair. A quick run into the ladies room and a spruce up with a little water help get it all going again.
I think I am in the market for a cover now though. If not to wear when riding, but also when the helmet comes off.
Really though, as mentioned, you get use to having wild hair on riding days. If you do need to be presentable, like for work, try those Buffs there and also plan ahead to carry or have waiting some hair care stuff in your desk or bag you keep at work.

Another vote for the Buff -- and whoa, I learned about the joys of pulling a helmet off with ear piercings the hard way the first timeLion_Lady wrote:Yup. I wear a Buff too. I've got, like 6 of them. They help tremendously in making helmet removal more smooth over my triple ear piercings.

Mostly I just complain.
If I'm done riding for the day, I just re-wet it and it sets itself. If that's not an option, and I happen to be concerned about how it looks, I'll just put on a bandanna and forget about it. And if I really don't care at all how it looks, then I just deal with the flat, straight hair on top. It could be worse I suppose.
I did enjoy it the most when my hair was buzzed (down with a 3-day cutting guard). Then it just wasn't an issue at all.
Cheers,
Loonette
