My winter battery storage plan

#1 Unread post by Falkenheld »

This winter I want to make sure my battery survives and is good to go when the warm weather returns. To ensure this, I will be storing it in the basement, always connected to an automatic trickle charger. This way it will always stay charged, I hope.

Does this plan sound okay?

Just keep an eye on the electrolyte level. If it gets low, top off with distilled water.

Make sure to keep the battery off of the cement floor. For some reason a battery sitting directly on a cement floor will go dead very quickly. Putting the battery on the workbench will ensure your battery will be ready to go come the warm weather.
