Nah... both our immediate neighbors are really cool. We tend to be loud and have, erm, interesting smells emitting from our parties, so we need to keep the peace around here. It's all good in the 'hood!

I'd suggest not to get rid of the custom pipes once he gets the stock pipes cause soon or later he's gonna want his bike to be louder. Once he starts riding with other people and can't hear it when he's shifting and the other bikes are a lot louder, beleive me, he'll want louder.

Most of my bikes over the years have had stock, quiet pipes and I have never had this problem. Do people really need 120 db coming out of the pipe to know when to shift?

The few bikes that I did own that had loud pipes always ended up giving me more noise fatigue on long distance rides. Listening to that racket for 8 hrs. will turn your brain to mush.

I've got a neighbor who fancies himself a biker..... no knock to you harley guys...but he has a sportster. roughly 3000$ dollars worth of leather..... never takes it beyond the end of the street. REal real REAL loud pipes. he likes to sit and rev it either early in the mornings, or late at night.



I just want to shoot him in the face.


My one consolation is that the bike runs like a sack of taters. And he can't make it idle more than 5-10 secs


On the other hand, the guy across the street owns an older mustang, that thing growls real purty like. I always get the impression that its snarling.
