(not mine and appologies if posted before)
1. What appears to be a quick and easy repair will not be quick or easy.
2. If the old part comes out easy it will pain to get back in. If the old part was a pain to get it will be a pain to get back in.
3. You will spend more time looking for tools and dropped bolts then you will spend on the actual repair.
4. The phone will always ring once your hands are covered in oil.
5. You will know what part you need to finish your repair 10 minutes after the part store closes. If you do happen to know what part you need before the part store closes they will not have in stock.
6. If you have a 10mm socket in your hand all the bolts will magicily turn into 12mm.
7. Once you find and repair all the oil leaks in a old motor you will get fuel leaks, once the fuel leaks are fixed, you will get electrical shorts, once the electrical shorts are repaired your tires will fall off.
8. Do you really save money buy parts off of E-bay if half the parts you get are wrong?
9. IF you try keeping your clothes clean during a repair you will brush up against something oil once the repair is done.
10. If it is not broken do not try fixing. Just because your bored does not mean your motorcycle needs fixing.
11. The computer in the parts store is only right 75% of the time.
12. Fix one problem at a time. This way you can figure out what job you did wrong easier.
13. When your wife askes how long you are going to be doing the repair job add 2 hours on to what ever you where thinking. Yes some times it does take 2 1/2 hours to do an oil change.
14. No matter how big or where you place the bucket to catch the oil during the an oil change the floor will get messy.
15. Keep a first aid kit in your tool box because sometimes the engine your working does not want to be fixed and will try and kill you.
16. Cursing and throwing tools will not help fixing the problem, but it can make you feel better.
17. Sometimes it is cheaper in the long run to pay a pro to do the repair.
