I have had Progressive Ins. ever since I got my bike. Altho I fortunately haven't had to file a claim, they have very good coverage including road service for flat tires, etc. You can check their rates on line, I believe.

try them http://www.mcgrawgroup.com/

also try state farm since they only go by engine size... so a 250cc should be cheap to insure.

AAA also offers good rates but you'll need a car insured w/ them 1st before they insure your bike.

I can't say from experience, but while getting quotes on bikes I was looking at, Geico was giving the best rates. State Farm wanted me to switch my car insurance over and was going to give me a raping there. Progressive didn't do WV, so that was out. I'm still waiting to hear from All-State (2 weeks since quote request).

Here is my quote frome Geico. I'm 20 years old with no accidents or violations.

Your total premium is $794.35 for 12 month policy.
Bodily Injury Liability(BI) --- $50,000 / $100,000 --- $362.00
Property Damage Liability(PD) --- $20,000 --- $128.00
Medical Payments(MED) --- NO --- $
Uninsured Motorist Bodily Injury(UMBI) --- $50,000 / $100,000 --- $138.00
Uninsured Motorist Property Damage(UMPD) --- $10,000 --- $0.00
Underinsured Motorist(UIM) --- $50,000 / $100,000 --- $160.00
Underinsured Motorist Property Damage(UIMPD) --- $10,000 --- $2.00
Comprehensive(COMP) --- NO --- $
Collision(COLL) --- NO --- $
Towing(TOW) --- NO --- $

Later,
Chrome...

I think its a little high cuz your 20...

I recently hit 23.... and my ins company ( car ins- state farms) send me some money back... and told me your ins rate goes way down after 23 .. plus I have a 5 yr --- Clean driving recorde...

congrats again.

actually, it'd be very maneagable to pass the DMV test on a ninja 250.

BUT since you don't have any motorcycle experience... the MSF should be better for you.

and don't worry. eventhough i do have more experience than you, im still a newbie myself.

so yeah... let me know when you feel ready. :D

Nice looking bike. I like the color and it is very clean. I hope it works out well for you, as I'm interested in the Ninja 250 also (eventually).
