r and rr bikes???

Sorry to be a noobie.

Whats the difference in a r and rr bike? For example ninja zx6r and zx6rr? I see there are engine size differences but what else? Is it meant for a different style of riding? Is it like comparing a ex to a dx with cars? Thanks

I don't think there's any difference at all. Just the naming term.

Or maybe R stands for Race as in a real racing bike where as RR is Race Replica as in a bike that's a replica of its full on racing brethren.

In other words, a R would be optimized for weight and the like. RR would just be a general, for the public version.

Mind you that's pretty much just a guess.

they just wanna note the diff bet the ZX-6RR and the ZX-6R(commonly reffered to as the 636 or cheater. LOL!)

they're both race replica bikes.

although... the ZX-6RR is a little bit more tuned for racing and the 636 is a little more street oriented as i've heard.

zx-6rr has a 599cc engine to comply with AMA limitations. zx-6r has a 636cc engine which gives it a small edge over other 600-class bikes but disqualifies it from professional racing. As of 2007, Kawasaki will no longer produce 636.
