I have a while to go before I'll be getting a bike, but so far the 250 seems like it would fit me better than the 500. I mean I am interested in it, but I vary rarely drive on the highway and the 250 is a nice chunk cheaper. Right now I'm just reading my Proficient Motorcycling book and trying to understand the fundamentals, because it is easy for my mind to wonder to different bikes... cruiser or standard.

The Ninja 250/500, Vulcan 500, Blast... all nice looking (in a value/performance sense, not just design) bikes and pretty affordable. As far as the clean look on your bike, I like more solid colors, or two-tone styling. I'm not crazy about the flame designs on the newer Ninja bikes that I've been looking at, but some colors do work (the blue w/silver flames). Enjoy the ride.
