I guess I'm not that old fashiond...1970 hugh...I had no idea...put me down w/ Wrider...I stand corrected. I'd like to ride one so when I say I hate'em I have an informed position!

still has two wheels....but i am not interested changing belts every year doesnt sound like fun to me.

I wish these weren't the only autos/semi autos on the market, it's a pain in the "O Ring" shifting with one arm

Ridleys are decent bikes, though service is a pain as they really don't have much if any dealerships or shops that do the work or provide parts. So, you've gotta work close with Ridley and be good with your hands.

There is a Ridley dealer not to far from me, we test drove them earlier this year. They don't look to bad in person, Ridey did of good job of choming them up pretty good and the exhaust sounds better than expected. It's a relatively light bike, at least lighter than my 800 Classic, or at least it feels like it.

They work just like Jet Skies. You dont have to hold the brake the entire time your stopped, once you stop that's it. These bikes are an alternative for those who for some reason can't or won't ride a regular bike. The only thing is that like Shorts mentioned it's difficult to find someone that services them and the biggest engine they make is a 750cc. If you ever wanted a biger bike you'd have to transition to a regular motorcycle anyways. Then the price tag, they start at about 15K....my husband bought his Gold Wing for that much!

The HD dealer I bought my harley from sells them - I imagine they'd service them too although I could be wrong.

learn clutchless shifting?

or better yet, install a Quickshifter? but im not sure if they make it for your bike.

Huh, how 'bout that. I like 'em. If I was a normal sized person I'd definitely consider getting one.

We used to have a Honda Reflex scooter with CVT. IIRC, recommended interval to inspect for belt change was 12-15K miles. Some machines' belts would last significantly longer before fraying, cracks, looseness, etc. would show up.
