Harrison, warts and all, is the only true indy. Started it, should finish it.

Seems like Harrison Ford will be back! At least according the latest story I read both Sean Connery and Ford would like to appear in the latest flick, the only problem being now the script. Apparently they've gone through a few rewrites. I'm too lazy to go and find the article now, but if you did a search in google I'm sure it'd jump right up.

The third Star Wars was fun Mike! You should go see it, esp if your fave is Empire like mine. The movie carries a lot of the same feel as that one, the dialouge is still corny, and it lacks a Han Solo. :( If only they'd put in a young Han Solo that would have been great! (Maybe not..we might have gotten some digital projection crap like Jar Jar)

Maybe Matthew McConaghy would be good. He was good as Dirk Pitt in Sahara.
So dissapointed with this...the books were great reading when I was a kid. Haven't seen the movie, but the fact that Clive Cussler is sueing them seems like a bad sign. I'm pretty sure the lawsuit is about plot detraction, but most likely at the heart of the dispute is $$$$$$

It'll still sell a lot of tickets, just because it's an Indiana Jones movie, but it probably will fall short on character compared to the previous 3.

Apparantly, they've been kicking around the script for a few years now. At first, Ford couldn't committ, then Speilberg was busy, then Lucas was occupied with the prequels. Last I read from a reliable source was that the script they had did indeed plan on passing the torch to Indy's protege.

Yes, I hate it when they do this also! That's a stock plot that has been done any number of times as an easy exit from a series. It's weak writing and they ought to be ashamed if they go ahead with it.

Having said that, you cannot replace Harrison. There is only one Indiana Jones. Say what you want about him, he was a great fit and I don't think the masses could accept some stock scruffy looking sarcastic archeologist.

Having said THAT, I WISH THEY'D JUST LEAVE WELL ENOUGH ALONE!!!!
I remember when the series ended with LAST CRUSADE and went away thinking that it was really finished on a high note, with an original storyline, for that matter. Coming back to tack on one more when the protagonist is eligible for social security and utilizing a stock plot AFTER the last one truly finished it in all sense of the term; REEKS of cheap efforts to make a fast buck because SOMEONE couldn't think of anything new to offer. HELL, he couldn't even write a decent Star Wars script anymore.

YOU LEAVE MY INDY ALONE!!!
Wherever you may roam
May you own your road.

Worse still are the number of re-makes of previously famous/successful movies. Today we have "War of the Worlds". Previously done in about 1957, scared the hell out of me back then, I still watch it when it shows up on TV. I doubt my interest will be piqued by the re-make, though.
I will be equally disinterested in an Indy movie without Harrison Ford.
