Royal Enfield New Model 'Bullet'

Royal Enfield will unveil a new-look version of its popular 500cc Bullet Electra at the NEC Motorcycle Show this year. Based on the Electra, which is the latest incarnation of the Bullet and is powered by an all alloy lean burn single cylinder engine, this new model has been developed exclusively for the UK market and gets more aggressive roadster styling.

The most obvious changes are to the front end, where flat handlebars and twin chrome speedometer and rev counter replace the nacelle that has served the Bullet for over 50 years.

Other changes from the standard model include chrome mudguards front and rear plus an upswept sport silencer that boosts power output by 10% compared to the standard model.

Stopping power is provided by a 280mm single calliper front disc brake, while Avon Super Venom and Roadrunner tyres work with gas filled rear dampers to give a reassuringly firm and responsive ride.

The Royal Enfield Electra-XS is expected to sell for $8,234 on the road and will initially be available only in Black. See it at the NEC Motorcycle Show from 27 OCT – 5 Nov on stand T147 in Hall 20.
