Maybe it's just me, but somehow, when someone comes to a forum like this, and complains that his buddies who are running 140 mph, won't wait up for him when he can only run 110 mph, well, I find it pretty hard to take seriously.

Well, I have the same feeling, Cajun, but I have known some crazy kids who do get caught up in this kind of behaviour on the roads. This issue has come up frequently before here on the TMW forums. I look at it like this. OK the post may be a troll, in which case the poster is taking you for a ride and getting a laugh out of you. Or it may be some crazy kid who might just listen to some sense and save his neck. What's more important?

Surprise to you. Read your policies, people. If you are breaking the law, the insurance has absolutely NO OBLIGATION to make any payment.
That must be a quirk of Canadian insurance. My policies historically have a few exclusions. My current one will not pay (comp/coll.) if I am operating the vehicle under the influence, or if I'm commiting a felony at the time of the accident (drug running, get away car). By law, the liability coverage must pay out either way (i.e. so victims are not left hanging).

In general, insurance is there for when you screw up. Having an exclusion for violations of traffic laws pretty much makes the policy almost worthless, doesn't it? Doesn't just about every accident involve some violation of one traffic law or another? Seems to me that the insurance company would almost never have to pay under those circumstances. Sounds like a great deal for them and very little protection for your money.

I believe they will payy the 3rd party, ie. someone other than you, but they will not make payment for your vehicle damage, or cover your medical.

This post is a joke, right?? Two months experience and keeping it at 110 mph because your nervous and not comfortable yet...hmm...and what the hell is "Riding parter trouples"?...yes, I think you have some riding partner toubles.

I hope you become an excellent rider...take it to the track, make a name for yourself...take pride in wrenching every ounce of performance out of your bike.

But if you have a death wish, take it to an open field with your instrument of choice and do it on your time. Don't be that jackass on the motorcycle, (or even a car, for that matter), that recklessly causes the death of another. I believe you should park your bike until you gain some more experience about life.

If this is not a "bait" post, then I'm very glad that you are questioning your riding environment and hope you can develop your riding skill to the fullest.
Courage is embracing your fear and seeking its point of origin...but stupid is just plain stupid.
