Cool bud. I will have my Helm mount cam too. And the Gear so when I fall, and I know I am going to, I will be able to get up.

I am jealous for those 600+ bikes, U can do power wheelies.

Lets go hit the Cold water Canyon

Actually you sound more like you are 15 than 23.
Why not at least get your license before you start doing "advanced" tricks.

Oh, and you better start saving a whole lot of money, because you are going to need it for the inevitable repairs and tickets you are going to get.

The guys you see doing all the stunts have a lot more riding experience than you. Be patient and you might live to see 24.

he's gonna practice in a empty parking lot. i don't think it's illegal unless the lot owner tells him to stay away.
Thats one thing that blues wasn't even addressing in her post...

Edit: My mistake, it must not have registered in my silly whacky and a little zany mind of mine. She is talking about tickets... but my guess would be that she was talking about the tickets he will get if he keeps following the path he has now chosen.

Eh... maybe I am more zany than I believe... I do have an unhealthy love for cheese after all.

You are right. I was referring to the path he seems to be wanting to go.

I love

I love how people always, always have to start a debate about a topic. I am getting bored and sick of it.

Why can't you simply answer the question? And if you don’t have an answer; just don’t comment.

This is like asking my parents how to do a wheelie. They would have similar comments too " I told you not to get that bike, I know you gonna get hurt"

Do people start debating when they have nothing to say? I asked how to do a wheelie? Didn’t ask you tell me how long I am going to live? And stop betting on my life, even if I loose, you won’t win or gain anything.

Hell I could die anytime, anyway and anywhere. When the time comes for me to die I will die. No one can stop it, not even the mighty god.

Also wheelie is not an advanced trick. Wheelie is one of the basic tricks IF you do it at slow speeds, at an open place and within your limits limits. On the other hand I have seen people do wheelies at well over 80 mph in traffic now that’s scary and dangerous.

One gets a sport bike over a standard bike for a reason. As for me I like pushing it to the limits while staying within my limits.

I do know that some of you do care for fellow riders, and would like to see them safe. But it annoys me when people go off topic and start debating.

I believe (my personal opinion) Motorcycling is like flying; you become one with the machine. When I first took flight lessons I didn’t learn to just fly around. I learned how to get in to a spin, stall, nose down dives and Land at night with out lights etc, (so called extremely dangerous stuff) and how to get out of them. When I did my spin training I did barrow rolls and loops. Those are all intermediate stunt flying. If done right, within your skill level, proper training and with the right mind set anything can be done safely.

Thank you for those of you who answered my question.

silentx, to get the front wheel up you need weight transfer. To keep the front end up, you need balance. Weight transfer is easy: slide back as far on the seat as you can reach the bars, lean as far forward as you can, get going about your engine's torque peak rpm in first gear, squeeze the clutch and whack the throttle full, then when the tach hits redline, dump the clutch, lean back hard and yank the handlebars up and back as hard as you can all at the same time.

When you learned to stall, spin, loop, and roll an airplane, you had an instructer in the plane with you, and 5000 feet of altitude in which to recover below you. On a motorcycle, there is no room for error.
If at first you don't succeed, skydiving isn't for you.

In the other thread you asked what made me think you were 17 (or younger). Here you go. This is it.

As for the topic, yes, you can wheelie the ninja 250. You will probably drop it... just keep that in mind. Destroying a bike is never good for resale value (or repair costs). It is very possible to flip over, backwards, sideways, forwards, etc. If you come down crooked, you will probably highside and land on your head.

Other things to keep in mind: If you do manage to perform a wheelie and hold it up for a while, you are starving your cylinder heads of oil. These leads to overheated valves, pistons, cams, etc. Also, your cylinders aren't getting any airflow when they are pointed upwards.

A good sign that a bike has been wheelied/abused by its owner is poor fuel mileage. I've seen quite a few bikes with fried rocker arms and camshafts because numskulls wheelie their bikes and then sell them to poor saps after they f*ck the bike up.

mm! Fried cams and rocker arms...tasty! It cost that guy $2500 bucks to get the engine fixed in the bike that those came from.

EDIT: BTW, that bike was a year old with under 1000 miles on it when he bought it.
So do you get the same oil starvation from riding on a real steap uphill for a while?

Cool thanks for the info. Will do. I just want to get the wheel off the ground for few seconds as a first step.

As for the plane part. Do you fly as well?

"When you learned to stall, spin, loop, and roll an airplane, you had an instructor in the plane with you, and 5000 feet of altitude in which to recover below you. On a motorcycle, there is no room for error" and an instructor will not be riding with you; because it is impossible. Just like when I learned how to ride bicycle no one was riding with me. I had to do it by myself. And yes!! I fell !! got up and did it a gain; until I learned how not to fall.

If you fly (seems like you know about flying) you know the role of an instructor is like your dad teaching you how to ride a bike. Instructor can't fly for you or transfer his skills to you so you can land the plane. Instructor will teach you what’s right and how not to exceed the limits. Practice! Practice! Practice! Until you learn. That goes for all the skills we learn in our lives. (Drawing, dancing, driving etc)

And just so you know I am not arguing, just making a comment. and no I am not comparing wheelies to aircraft stalls or spins.

Thanks again.

The instructor is with you if you're in a military trainer. They are two seats. For solo, you go by yourself, but for the events, an FI is there. Sure, he doesn't control the plane for you as you'd need to learn, unless you screw up and he's going to take over to recover.

and for motorcycels you do not have an instructor riding with you. So you dont have a choice in the matter.
