You gotta talk to the guys at a bike night in LA to really find out. The only place I can think of is:

Go up the 101 towards Universal Studios and get off at the off ramp before Universal City Walk and drive in the hills to the opposide as to where Universal City walk is.

Just drive through those hills. It's a nice view at a nice cruising speed plus you get to see ALOT of rich people's mansions. And then just end it when you get to the 405 and take the 405 south back to LA.

Google map the area first so you know where ur going.

any road is fine as long as you don't ride over your skill level.

BUT you might want to go to canyons that aren't tight. just make sure not to get carried away and take turns too hot.

anyway, since you mentioned malibu before...

topanga canyon(if the repaving is done already), malibu canyon, stunt road are all pretty newbie friendly.

mulholland doesn't get tight until you pass the rockstore.

payuma is kinda tight as well.

latigo... dangerously twisty.

good luck. i'll join you if i can.

PCH

by the way when I went to the Cycle gear, to buy some stuff for the bike, I asked around about PCH and I heard bad things about it. Its not the terrain thats bad, but the traffic. "Since there are alot of traffic on the PCH its pretty dangerous"

yeah. traffic is also an issue.

i have been to stunt road maybe 4 times... it's not busy w/ cagers.

you should try it but head back if you don't feel like taking payuma after it.

another canyon i should mention is bouquet canyon. it's not around malibu though but it's a fun twisty. it doesn't have a lot of elevation changes and it's not very tight.

if you wanna go there w/ me. we can take the freeway to skip sand canyon since it's pretty technical.
