Well my son got a decent haul this year. First year I didn't have to carry him up to the houses. My daughter got a great haul then got "procreating" suckered by one of her friends that we see about twice a year.

Here what transpired:

Me: Riley, where's that big bag of candy you had?
Daughter: Well dad, Helen said she had this great place in her room to stash candy so the adults couldn't get into it!
Me: Baby, there is a lesson to be learned here, and the big part of it is you'll never see that candy again.
Daughter: But dad, Helen said I can come by anytime and get the candy.
Me: Sweetie, when is that last time you seen Helen?
Daughter: I dunno, maybe in the summer sometime.
Me: Exactly. And you'll probably not see her again until sometime around Christmas, which means, you'll never see your candy again.

Oh, I guess it's a lesson that needed to be learned. I'm just bummed I'm down a bag of candy to raid. Especially since my daughter doesn't like Resse's cups, but I do. Aaaahhhh!
A dog had his chain reduced one link at a time, every few days, until his chain was so short he could barely move. He never resisted because he was conditioned to the loss of his freedom slowly, over time. Are we in this country becoming like the dog?

I scored all of one of my kids Reeses Peanutbutter cups as well :P
We had 91 kids despite it being cold as hell out there. One of the neighbors put on one of the most spectacular haunted houses I have ever been through. There was a 20 minute line up just to get in. Lots of kids turned back once they had a look inside

Well, since there's two Halloween threads (mine wasn't so popular)...

We must've had at least 100 trick-or-treaters last night, which is actually down a bit from most years when the weather has been nicer. Our village is so freakin' quaint, a lot of neighboring townspeople bring their kids here for Beggars' Night.

I had to go to work afterwards, and I decided to keep my costume on (my first costume in 25 years). My kids and I had fun perusing the neighborhood...

Cheers,
Loonette
