My MC class got to take a tour of the location in Atlanta, it was very cool how they do it. They set up a lot of brand new bikes for racers before they ever even ride them. Their tolerances are a lot more strict then factory tolerances.
Just as a side note the guy (Kent) giving us the tour was also on two wheeled tuesday before they got canned.
That's why I said, "cannot really," as opposed to "cannot at all." I realise that it's a subtle difference, but when you bend metal you weaken it, when you bend it back that weakness is increased. How many times can you bend a coat hanger before it snaps? How many times do you want to bend your frame?
You are right, I just wanted to throw a little info out there.
And thanks for the coat hanger comment, I understand your point even better now.
Top pro teams don't rebuild engines between each event just because they need it. Just as often engines are rebuilt between races to tune the power characteristics to specific tracks and events.
If at first you don't succeed, skydiving isn't for you.

thanks. it wasn't mentioned in the docu that i saw.
so is there really a need to rebuild it each race just based on engine wear?
or is it just like you mentioned about tuning it differently?
I actually found someone where I work selling an '04 ZX-R6. She's the one and only owner, and only put 3,000 miles on it. She used it mostly to get through the San Diego traffic, but has moved really close to work, and rarely rides anymore.
Hopefully this works out, and I don't find out she is also a stunt rider when I speak with her.
