Hi All,

just wanted to say hello! This site has so much great information for a new rider such as myself. I spend every day reading the forums - who needs to do housework when there's a fun place like this, eh! Anyway, I'm starting off on a 2006 Kawasaki ZZR250...I'm not licensed yet and will be taking the course as soon as it's offered again next spring. I know it's a no no, but I have been practicing on my street (very quiet) and feel pretty comfortable on it. My hubby got me into riding - he's actually new, too (began the beginning of this year). So, he's looking forward to the two of us riding together once I'm legal and properly trained.

Can't wait for spring to arrive!

Glad you are riding, and not just going to ride pillion.

My wife rode before I did, and once I learned I was sneaking off with her bike so I could ride. Finally, I was doing so much we just bought another.

Ninjas are alway good bikes, and the 250cc is easily the best in that class. I say go ahead and ride when you can. I takes a lot of pressure off you once the class rolls around to not have to learn all the basics. Plus, you get to smile quietly watch people lift their feet for the first time

As far a legality goes, you might be able to get a permit to make you partially legal. In North Carolina, you take the written test, and then are legal to ride, but cannot carry a passenger - then completing the basic rider course eliminates the riding test with the DMV. Check with your DMV on how they do things. I would still recommend the course, as you get to try some things you would not try otherwise, and you aren't on your own bike. Also, you do learn some good things.

You just can't go wrong with the ZZR250, it has looks, performance(I agree, its the best in its class and I wish they would bring the zzr250 here to the states, I like the look more), and great price. Rider friendly has never looked so good to me before!
