Night Ride

#1 Unread post by iwannadie »

was just out on a sunday night at 3am, very nice weather(85 degrees F) full moon hardly a cloud. i was surprised to see almost more bikes than cars out. must have passed 20 bikes in my 1 hour ride. was pretty cool all different kinds of riders. was always going the oppesite direction though, i almost flipped a U just to ride with one of them.

does anyone mind people riding with you or is that annoying when you dont know them? ive rode staggered(i keep my distance since i dont know them) a couple times with strangers. some seem to enjoy the company others quickly change lanes or speed up making it a point they dont want to share their lane. i figure two lights are easier to see than 1 so why not share the lane.

I wouldn't mind if someone pulled up next to me on the road. Sometimes I look back, and then give a little space just to (try to) let them know I don't mind. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

I actually rather like it, really. I try to stay away from it as much in the city, because of the crowded streets, but it's always nice to have someone to talk to about bikes at a stop light, even if it's only for a minute. 8)

But for anyone of you MI riders out there, feel free to pull up to the tall guy on the burgundy VLX. :D

I honestly don't mind, as long as you leave a fair bit of space behind me (I prefer to know the skills of the people who ride closer, so I know if they're likely to do stupid stuff)... besides I love losing people in the bendies on a 125 although they tend to catch up very quickly when we hit the straights. Amazing how many bikers actually can't take a corner both quickly AND safely on the road :|.

Lost a ducati a couple of weeks ago, but then again, I think he was more cruisin admiring the countryside :(

Continuing the same trend, no problem as long as they're not invading my space. It tends to be a fair amount of fun to have more people riding, and I feel much better at night with several headlights around me.

I love to ride with others - as longas they're not being a complete 'tard - ie pulling wheelies and overtaking me, etc. the more the merrier!
Don't give up.

Not now, not soon, not after being continually knocked down.

If you never give up, you can never truly fail.

Night rides are the best! :D

Sometimes when I don't have a destination in mind (which is almost always), if I see a bike ahead I try to catch up and ride with him/her for a while. I keep a further distance than if riding with a friend though.

That's one of the great things about motorcycling. If a stranger follows you in a car he's probably a pervert. If a stranger follows you on a bike he's your buddy.
