yes yes indian larry, he was/is the best. ashame he was into doing the stunts and ended his life like that.

i didnt ever like the rat phink logos he did, but i loved everything else just screamed of old chopper(i assume thats what it was like back then as im only 24;)

Indian Larry was inspired by Ed "Big Daddy" Roth, which is one of the reasons that he used the Rat Fink logo a lot. Ed Roth, if you've never heard of him was a custom car maker in the 60's, and 70's, and most of his famous cars had, in pretty fair words, a "chopped" look.

Also, Indian Larry had been doing stunts since he got his first bike, which I would assume was in his teen years. When you figure that he made it all the way to his 50's before he got killed in that freak accident, then you should either be able to assume that he was either VERY lucky, or VERY skilled, with which I would go with the latter, as if you've ever seen him ride, then you'd know how good he was.

i loved all of larrys stuff...but ive always kinda wondered if it wasnt an accident? now dont get me wrong im not sayin anyone murdered him or anything...but larry was gettin old...there was alot of specials about him on tv and in mags right before he died...he was always looking progressivly worse...making me think maybes hes sick? maybe he doesnt want anyone to know? and knowing about larry's life and ideals, i wonder if he just wanted to go out on top? not let something like cancer or god beat him? i dont know...no disrespect for the man...i just know if was a guy like larry...thats how i would wanna go.

So, does the twist-grip clutch work worth a damn? Seems like an inherently ineffective, slow way of operating it. Most people can squeeze with their fingers much more quickly than by twisting a grip, it would seem.

If you made the bite point on the clutch real early in the twist, it'd probably have the same effect. But then you've got to deal with the fact that the position of your hand in relation to the position to the handlebar is important on both hands.

That's fine and all, but if you hit a big pothole and you get jerked around, the last thing you'd probably want is to get another throw-about from the clutch dis/re-engaging.

Sounds like a hair-trigger, and even beyond possible higher cost per unit, it is ergonomically unfit for people to use. I DID manage to master the switchgear on a BMW, though, so maybe anything is possible.

I'm sure the beemer switch gears are designed to be used by 10 foot tall people with a palm span of a 12 inches
