Snowy day in Campbell River
Snowy day in Campbell River
First snow of the season and I'm missing my two wheels all-ready. I live in Campbell River out on Vancouver Island. I'm new to the forum today and just want to say hi. I've been riding for 40 years (sounds like a long time) I guess it is. Lots of experience and stories though. I'll be writing some of them down and posting them in the future. Back in the sixties (yes I remember them) when I was in high school I worked part time in a motorcycle shop fixing bikes. We raced most every Sunday through the riding season. That's when motocross was called scrambles. We used the same bike for scrambles, hill climbs, and flat track, just changed the tires depending on the race. Sometimes I even rode the bike to the competition and just took off the head and tail lights when I got there. No signal lights on my old 500 Triumph back in those days. Everything in racing is so specialized now. Of course the equipment is better, more expensive and the lap times shorter but I don't think the fun factor is any greater. Back then I seemed to live with a perpetual smile on my face. I still get that smile every time every time I ride. Well enough of the reminiscing for now. I'll be checking in here regularly and I'm looking forward to reading some of your posts and adding my own. Who knows, maybe some day well meet out on a ride. Cheers.

Thanks' for the warm welcome. It's good to hear from other BC riders. Wet coaster is appropriate as I do ride in the rain quite often although this year has been exceptional with lots of warm sunny days. Cheersblues2cruise wrote:![]()
It's good to see another west coaster. Or should I say wet coaster. haha
It's snowing like crazy here right now as well. However I did get to ride for a couple of hours today. I was on my way home when it started snowing.
Enjoy the forums.
Thanks' for the welcome. I'm originally from southern Ontario just across the border from Buffalo NY and use to ride in upstate NY quite often back in the Sixties and early seventies. A group of us use to camp down in the finger lake region every September. Great scenery and good roads. Cheers, MarkKeithB wrote:Welcome to TMW from upstate New York
