Unusally warm weather for November

#1 Unread post by MrGompers »

I expected to have the bike wrapped up for the winter by now. However, the weather in southern new england has been great. Forecast calls for temps 60-65 tomorrow. We even had some days in the 70's this month. Too bad the sun sets at 5:00 tho.

Whats going on in the rest of the country weather wise ?

around 28-30 at night and 38 in the day. snowed a little but didn't stick. i was riding a week ago but now the roads are icy... dang. when it snows i'll see if i can grab a pic. weather.com says its going to snow all day tomorrow, i doubt it. You guys are lucky, your winters are like 70 degrees, but unlucky that you dont get snow!!!! :teehee:

About the same here as for you, Mr. Gompers. The kids go back to school today, so I'll most definitely be out riding a bit today - probably tomorrow as well.

One of the reasons I don't put the bike away for the winter (besides not having a garage  ) is because there are always a few nice riding days scattered about during the winter in this area.

Enjoy your ride!

Cheers,
Loonette

NOAA lists current temps at 33 degrees. High of 62.

I think i may go for a ride today, assuming i dont get really tired by the time it warms up. I just got out of work about an hour ago, like the last few days, and havnt had it in me to (safely; too tired) ride.

Yea I don't have a garage either. Once the weather finally turns here we won't have any nice riding days during the winter. Occaisionally, there will be a couple decent days in January. For the most part tho we are locked down until end of March.

When I took my MSF class in March 2006 it actually snowed a little during class.

Saturday and Sunday were about 45 degrees so I rode. With that windshield, my polar expidition underwear, and ugly brown wool sweater, I was good. Only a bit of concern as the roads were not quite dry, and frost could have still been on them. But I took care...funny to be riding my bike passing cars withtheir christmas trees tied on top! I wanted to get my kissing ball and carry it on the back of the bike but I wasn't sure it would survive!!

I am at work today and it looked nice. BOO HISSSS!

I don't think Candy fits through the front door, so she will have to live in the garage for winer (the 600 was in the dining room last winter).

If the roads are dry on New Year's Day - I'm taking her out! The Polar Bears have Lake George 8)

Supposed to keep 20's nights and 40-50's days till friday. On Saturday, it's supposed to drop into the 30's.

Light dusting of snow (like sugar on a bundt cake) this morning. We set an all time record for rain in the month of November. 11.6 inches as of Sunday the 26th, four more days to go. Broke the last record from 1942. This is Oregon and we love the rain...well, sometimes. Other than this morning, temps have been mid 40-50 range. I feel sorry for those poor bastards in LA, suffering through sprinkles and 60 degrees. They'll have to wait until the weekend to go riding at 70 degrees and sunshine. Just glad I don't live in Minnesota!

It's been rainy here south of your border. So far it's been 50 - 60F and it should drop down to 45 by Saturday.

We were told that the weather center had stated that it should be a relatively mild winter thanks to the jet stream pattern. Doesn't matter though, I usually ride all year round unless there's snow still on the street, once it's cleared it's back to riding. I too do not have a garage.

If you think that's unusual you should check out Thanksgiving in 1920, 71F!
